What to check for search before an independent site launches

Search work starts while the site is built: titles, addresses, internal links, and a sitemap. These are setup tasks, not a ranking promise.

Each main page

Home, products, about, and contact each have their own title and description. The title says what that page is about.

Addresses and links

An address should describe the page. Important pages are reachable from the home page or another page.

Crawl settings

Provide a sitemap and say which addresses may be crawled. Pick one primary address for duplicate pages. Text and buttons have to work on a phone.

The boundary

Whether a search engine indexes the site, and where it ranks, is up to that engine. Delivery is the structural and content changes, plus a list of what changed.
